This is the scene outside of my office window...

Now there are little heads sticking out of the nest.
I meant to post this last week but didn't get around to it...  We spent our Easter weekend at our family's cabin in northern New Mexico.  It was beautiful and relaxing as always.  Here are some pictures.

Awe, the cabin!  Did I mention it is one of my favorite places...the nearby stream was flowing down to the pond so we took a stroll to see it.

We tried hiking near Mt. Wheeler but the road was still too snowy, so we drove over to Cimarron Canyon and hiked up the Clear Creek trail.    Here's a picture of the first waterfall along the trail.

Josh and the dogs at the top of the waterfall.

During one of our breaks, Gus and Josh had a tug-of-war.

Gus won...

This is near the cabin...Jodi and me on top of a log.

We're pretty sure we discovered the largest Aspen in the world!  There were three of them, all wider than me.
Spring is here!  Well, we may have just jumped directly into summer this past week with highs in the 80's.  My first daffodil bloomed on Monday.  I have been able to leave the well pump full all week with the lows being near 40.  Our lawn is already green and growing so we might even need to mow for the first time soon.

Maia and Juneau sharing the dog pillow in my office.

Jodi dug herself a sunning bed in the dirt.

Rooster sleeping.  I had to sneak up on him.

It has been cold here so I bought myself some sunflowers to make it feel like spring.
This was the scene Josh found the other night when he walking into our living room...one big sleepy puppy surrounded by the three cats.

This post is dedicated to my brother Jared, who just got engaged yesterday.  I always knew that another girl besides me would love you someday.  Congrats!

I’m loving the job change.  It is a little different finding work instead of having work handed to me.  This change is good for me though…it requires me to call and meet with people, and I’m trying to enjoy the interactions.  The quiet days are relaxing and I don’t find them to be boring.  I am starting to get called and emailed more and that is exciting.  I start my days with creating a list of things to accomplish and I have a strict rule that everything must get checked off, no rollovers.  I often step outside for a bit to get some fresh air, feed Rooster, check on the dogs, or water plants.  On some of the warmer days I go for a walk over lunch.  My snacks and lunches are a lot healthier with the frig at my finger tips and leftovers aren’t going to waste like they would before.

So that's that.  I don’t find being at home to be distracting at all.  It is a benefit!  I think I might even be more productive.  Plus, I occasionally catch our pets doing the funniest things, like Juneau chasing her tail…and I thought dogs were the only animals that did this.

BTW, this is my 100th blog post!
We couldn't get enough of the snow so last weekend we went skiing.  We couldn't have asked for better weather and snow conditions - it was great.  We also went right here to our local ski resort, sadly a first for us, which is an hour drive to get around to the back side of the mountain making this is an easy day trip for us.  So convenient and a perfect way to spend a Saturday.  We'll be doing this again!
This is something I have wanted to redo for years...our wedding photo album.  Not that I'm not appreciative of the one we got but it just wasn't my style and it didn't incorporate all of the pictures we got from various people afterwards.  The motivation to do such a project just wasn't happening for me until magically a Groupon for just this type of thing came along from Mixbook.  I started this over a year ago and voila, finally finished it over the weekend!  It took a lot of time to organize all the photos and re-scan them.  Pictured below is just the cover of my new album - to see more you'll have to visit me.

We spent the day snowshoeing with a few friends and the dogs.  Other than it being a little chilly, it was fun and I think the dogs had a better time than we did.
